Which airport do I need to fly in?

You need to fly to the Kilimanjaro International Airport. However this is not fixed, sometimes you need to fly to a different location as per the project selected. Always confirm your project location before you book your travel.

What happens if I missed flight or arrived late?

In case if you miss your flight you should contact your in-country coordinator as soon as the problem arises. We can adapt and reschedule your airport pick up.

Where are the projects located?

Our Tanzania volunteer opportunities are located in the city of Moshi and Arusha.

Moshi is bound by the iconic Mount Kilimanjaro, making it incredibly awe-inspiring. Moshi is one of the major coffee growing regions of the country. It boasts of exciting natural bounties combined with varied landscapes, all worthy of serious exploration. Arusha is known as the jumping off point for safari tours to the Serengeti, N'gorongoro, Maynard, and Tarangire.

Can I change project if I do not like?

Yes, you can change your Tanzania volunteering programs if you are not satisfied. However, we can say that 95% of our volunteers are satisfied with the projects in which they are placed. Regardless, if you do want to change your project, you simply need to talk to your in-country coordinator. If another position is available it will be provided to you, (although it cannot be guaranteed).

Will I have enough time to travel after work and in weekend? Yes, you will get enough time after work and in the weekends for exploring many fascinating destinations nearby.

Who will guide or support me in the project? You will be supported and well guided by our in-country coordinator, and the project support staff. You will always get help to the fullest. How should I be to take part in these projects? You should be of 18 years of age or above to participate in our Tanzania volunteering opportunities. For minors looking to participate in this volunteer program, parent’s permission is compulsorily required. Another option that you have is to participate directly with your parents.

Is there dress code in the project?

You are required to dress conservatively while in Tanzania. Wearing Jeans and a t-shirt are acceptable. However shorts and tank tops are not allowed. You should always consider and pay due respect to the regional religious beliefs and customs of Tanzania, which demand modest clothing and dress. Whenever if you enter temples, mosques, or buildings of religious importance always check what dress attire is required and follow it absolutely.

Will I receive training before the start of the project?

Yes, training is given to you before you actually being your volunteering program in Tanzania. The in-house country coordinator, with the help of the field staff, will familiarize you with your project and all its requirements. The training allows you to know the language culture, customary beliefs, do’s and don’ts for safety, and the sentiments of the local community.

What are safety measures you take for the volunteers?

Your safety is of paramount concern to us. We pick you up from the airport upon your arrival, and transfer you directly to our office. Here you are given a brief orientation and details regarding your upcoming journey. Our in-country coordinator conducts the orientation. The orientation not only helps you to handle your project well, but gives you the confidence and idea to safely complete your project with success.

What happens if I get sick?

If you get sick, while working in Tanzania volunteer program, immediate medical attention is provided to you. Rest assured that our in-country coordinator along with support staff will do everything necessary to put you back on track.

What Vaccination Do I need to take?

We recommend to all our volunteers that they check with the center for disease controls traveler's health recommendations. Check out this list of recommended vaccinations by CDC for Tanzania. These are: hepatitis A. hepatitis B. rabies. Typhoid. Boosters for tetanus, diphtheria and measles.

How can I apply to volunteer program in Tanzania?

You can either apply online, or download the application from the Boundless Lovess official website. In either case, please fill in the application form, and send $299 as an application fee to our office.

What happens once I submit my documents and application?

When you submit your documents, it is received at the Boundless Lovess office. Next your application document is reviewed, and forwarded to the in-country coordinator. That person then finalizes and assigns individual projects to you. After that, the finalized placement details for participating are forwarded to you.

Are there any necessary requirements to participate in volunteer programs?

18 years of age and above is the only specific requirements to take part in our volunteering opportunity in Tanzania. Apart from this you need to be passionate for helping others, and of sound physical and mental ability.

Do I need a visa to work as a volunteer?
